  • NYPL has drafted a financial model for viability of LEAP governing organization
    • Available for us to review (possibly require an NDA? Maybe not for grant partners)
    • Partners had questions about staffing, how long financial projections go, time until profitable
      • Good discussion for Governance workstream to take up
  • Micah addressed COSLA during ALAMW
    • COSLA a good spot to look for potential partners; some members looking for ways to co-invest
    • Utilize COSLA as a sounding board?

  • Discussion of where content for LEAP will be hosted
DPLA role
in ebook conversations
Rachel
  • DPLA received Sloan Foundation funding to explore ebook landscape and help develop national strategy
    • Holding the space for stakeholders to come to the table and discuss
  • Community conversations will inform LEAP but also other projects (like SimplyE for Consortia)
    • Inviting people from outside the LEAP partners as well
  • Will work with groups and organizations holding similar conversations like ReadersFirst, ASCLA, DCWG
  • We are recruiting more voices; want people to feel open to joining the conversation
  • White paper on our progress at the end of the year
WorkstreamsMichelle
  • See here for workstreams
  • Will have co-chairs and members solidified by end of January
  • Need 1-2 co-chairs to facilitate and 3-4 active group members to help with tasks
    • These may change over time; ok to be flexible
  • Partners want to make sure these conversations made available online to those who can't join us
    • Listservs and open calls for workstreams? Larger groups?
